Openshot 1.4.1 crash at start up

Hi,

I just found out Openshot and looks like a very useful tool. But I couldnt get it to start so far ...

$ openshot

I've seen a lots of similar errors to mine in the forum, but I havent been able to fix it yet.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much in adnvance.

I tried several things, but still not working, I got the very same error again.

I've updated to libmlt 0.7.6 --> again segfault (/var/log/syslog):

I went also through the following steps:

1. Remove openshot
2. remove al "mlt" and "melt" packages from my system
3. Install openshot again:

Hi,

First thing to do, update your version of MLT. This one (the 0.7.4) is full of bugs/regression on Oneiric (but not for the others ).

By the way, you should take a look if you have all dependencies=>http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1060

Secondly, it seems to be a bug of MLT. But I am not really sure of that.
After upgrade to the last version of MLT and check if this issue is always present, try to run Openshot in a console using this thread : http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=180
It is the only way that we have to see where is the problem (segfault).

The problem is the line

I don't think that is directly related to MLT or Openshot, it's a specific GTK module used to add transparency to windows. So you might want to try changing your theme, or try googling for that error message.

I have been using openshot for 10 months on openSUSE 12.1 with no issues. However since I did an update recently openshot has stopped working. All the solutions I found involves installing PPA for UBUNTU/Debian.

This is the error I get when I try to start openshot from konsole:

Segmentation fault

openshot was the only video editor to work on my system.

I just reinstalled FFmpeg and that seemed to fix the issue.

Thought I fixed the issue when FFmpeg was re-installed. Apparently openshot runs fine when launched from konsole. However, when started without konsole it closes immediately.
