You have perhaps a workaround for saving your work if you have installed Openshot by the PPA.
There are a tool (and it is not only for Openshot but all the softwares that you have installed with a PPA). which is a great tool : ppa-purge.
This tool can help you to come back at a previous version. Like this, you can test a superior version and if you are not happy with this one for any sort of reasons, you can come back at the other.
Like this you could save (export) your work and update at the new version, create another new project and import your stuff.
Here the command line :
- Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
or you can use Synaptic (graphical way) and search ppa and after install it.
Once time you have done that you must know the adress of the ppa that you want to desinstall. Say that our normal (=stable) ppa, type the following lines:
- Code: Select all
sudo ppa-purge ppa:jonoomph/openshot-edge
And you come back to the previous version. Normaly, no problem with the dependencies already installed.
Good luck.
