I just searched for the terms 'deshake' and then, 'stabilize' on this forum and got zero hits -- a surprise -- so if I'm on the wrong sub-forum,

please direct me to the right place.
If this is the right place, my first question:

What's the best way to go about stabilization/deshaking
with the latest version 2.2.0?
I have read
you can add plugins just be dropping the right .xml file into the /effects folder.
The linked advice is a few years old, but I can find nothing more recent, so I'm wondering if it still applies to the now-current version.
Second question:

Is it best to search for an .xml file for
vid.stab (is there a download link, anywhere?) which presumably would then appear in the effects menu, or do you get a superior result by doing the stabilization with
virtual dub running under
wine?
Third question:

I (think I) am running
vid.stab from terminal with the transcode-transform-stabiilze commands and parameters, and this allows two-pass stabilization. If I succeed in adding
vid.stab to the
OpenShot menu, I am guessing this would allow only single-pass stabilization? If I'm incorrect please let me know and also tell me how double-pass would be implemented in this circumstance.
Any other suggestions, as to how other
OpenShot users are now doing this, given the capabilities of the recently-released v2.2.0?
