Deinterlacing?

Postby saegeek » Wed Jun 04, 2014 3:47 pm

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there was a way to deinterlace video files right in Openshot? I've been looking around, but I can't find an answer.

Thanks!

I guess openshot does it on the fly when you choose progressive encoding.

Does the SD Youtube preset use progressive encoding on high quality? if it does, then that doesn't deinterlace.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Saegeek.

Yes, the Youtube codec uses progressive encoding which should de-interlace but I am not sure if it really does. You will need to try.

I tried, and it doesn't actually deinterlace the video. There aren't any alternatives, are there?

You can use ffmpeg to de-interlace the video.
Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i invid.mp4 -vcodec libx264 -vf yadif -acodec libmp3lame -q:a 0 -q:v 0 outvid.mp4

Okay, thanks. I guess there isn't a way to deinterlace right in Openshot, then.
