Raising Audio Even More

Postby mikepeezy » Tue Oct 08, 2013 2:23 pm

I'm working on a project who's original audio files are unusually low. Even after raising the audio levels via properties, to the highest possible settings (150), I find that they are still too low compared.

Does anyone have any tricks or ideas for raising the audio even more?

Hi:

Maybe you can increase the volume on the source file prior to adding to your project using another tool, depending on the source file format.

In the case it's a mp3 file, you can use lame with the --scale switch

Code: Select all
lame --scale 2 original_file.mp3 new_file_volume_x2.mp3

Other formats i think that you can use ffmpeg:

Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i <original_file> -vol 512 -acodec <audio_codec> <new_file_volume_x2>

I hope you find this information handy for your purposes.

Cheers,
