To support Linux users having new features or bug remove maybe it will be worth fork to LibreShot.

I suggest a git repository on github.

I looked at it, but there is only OpenShot 2.0 not 1.4.3.

The idea is to create a new project on github and to check in the 1.4.4 alpha code from the bazaar repository. I can do that in principle but don't know when I find the time.

This is what I did:

- Got the latest 1.4.4~alpha code:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install bzr
bzr branch lp:openshot ~/openshot1.4.4-alpha
cd ~/openshot1.4.4-alpha
bzr pull lp:openshot

- Created a repository on github
- Checked out repository
Code: Select all
git clone --bare https://github.com/XXLRay/libreshot.git ~/libreshot

- Initialized repository
Code: Select all
cd ~/libreshot/
git init

- Copied files
Code: Select all
cp -r ~/openshot1.4.4-alpha/* ~/libreshot/
rm -rf ~/openshot1.4.4-alpha/

- Added all files
Code: Select all
git add *

- Committed and pushed to git
Code: Select all
git commit -m "Initial commit of Openshot 1.4.4~alpha source code"
git push --mirror https://github.com/XXLRay/libreshot.git

Everybody should be able to check out the code freely via:
Code: Select all
git clone https://github.com/XXLRay/libreshot.git ~/libreshot

Notify me about your github account to be added as admin who can then push to the repository.

For those who are not familiar with git you can make local commits without messing up the server side repository. You are only making stuff available for others via git push.

I adjusted the steps of the blur effect to a more comfortable 1 instead of 0.01.
Furthermore I added three new effects (Perspective, Denoise via hqn3d, Denoise via medians)

Strange - Ijust tried again and it worked. Did you really try "https://github.com/XXLRay/libreshot.git" and not by any chance "https://XXLRay/libreshot.git/"? Otherwie try try http (without 's') instead of https.

Ok, synced, but... what to do next? I think that we should define a version matrix as a baseline, e.g. mlt libs, so we can have a comon environment to guarantee a stable point of start. I saw on launchad that 15.04 includes corrections that appeared on 14.10.

Then, maybe we should try to find a way to "hop" problems of versioning... using just git with https://github.com/mltframework/mlt

git clone https://github.com/mltframework/mlt ./mltframework

for frei0r...

http://code.dyne.org/frei0rr for review,

git clone git://code.dyne.org/frei0r.git

i don't know if mlt needs compilation or not... i don't have too much time, but i'm cloning them and reviewing code on github trying l to learn how things get done...before i have time to do something on the desktop...

Yes, requiring the latest dependency versions could be a good idea. Currently I don't have the time to find out how everything works though.

When you give me your git account names (via PM if you prefer) I can enable them to allow pushes.

My account is marianomarini.
I started to work with clip preference, adding a button to copy layout start clip parameters into end clip (and hopefully viceversa).

wydevices is mine... but will be very difficult for me to do a lot of things... i can try to define a baseline of dependencies, but it will take time for testing in a clean virtual machine.

I think that we should identify a mainstream linux distro for that development machine, preferrable an LTS e.g. ubuntu, or... debian, or.... (open to suggestions...)

then, make it work ok, and document with recipes how can we upgrade each dependency until baseline versioning target that we define. Once it is done, and tested from the os install to the working baseline, i'll share it....

in my own case, i don't expect to push a lot of things, as I'm away from the pc most of the time, but i can connect through ssh with the tablet to a VM for some compiling time in 5min shots and check results after (normally a dependency error, another 5m shot, until i can define it). Remember that I'm more comfortable on system administration than development :|

In addition i can push an old script code, already shared on this forum, and an old script i did for dependency checks.

What about viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2493 , viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2492&view=unread#p10279? Can we do something with it?

Can you please let me know which is your current setup(maybe through MP is better).

Maybe you can even use the script ;-) so i can test that too!

thank you!

We would also need to add the timeline fix: https://bugs.launchpad.net/openshot/+bu ... omments/52

I am adding yours and mine as issue in the project tracker.

You are collaborator now.

My system is Ubuntu 14.04

Same than me...

we should refer to:
https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faqs

as a good start point for improvements...e.g. (ladspa_plugin is something we can quick add if we identify a good -and updated- dependency matrix)

quick commit for testing... that's the script for a quick report on versioning... i will try to update soon when baseline is defined.

after that, maybe i also can try to build a package for ppa sharing... if I remember, it was quite easy to do it with screencast...

https://help.launchpad.net/Packaging/PP ... rcePackage

http://packaging.ubuntu.com/html/

.well.... i'm promising too much, but time is limited ... maybe jonathan will publish before  I'm too busy too :?
