Scratchy audio.....

Hello all,

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 with openshot 1.2.2. Both the wav and mp3 in VLC are great. I get scratchy audio with the preview and the rendered file. Melt and the mp3 works great. Melt and the converted wav works great. I added just the mp3 to the project and it plays clean in the preview. As soon as I add any video we get scratchy not so nice sound. So, where should I look next? Thanks for any help!

Hi,
Just a track. Have you think to install the version who are in the Medibuntu Repository ?
And look in the Preferences (or Ctrl + P) in the second tab if you have the corresponding codecs.

What video files are you using? Could it be that the processing of the video is taking all the CPU, leaving the audio 'scratchy'?

Hey thanks for the reply!

I figured it out. I must be a newbie. The avi files I am using must have background noise so it was not playing nice with the mp3 file. Turned off the sound on the avi files and bingo everything working the way it should. Thanks again for your help!

I have scratchy audio too, I'm using ogg files, because using flac files was worse, Openshot 1.3.0 latest mlt (as I can get). there are some videos and pictures on the time line

Flac doesn't work yet.it is planned in the next version.
