transitions in two parallel tracks

Hi

If have a video with two tracks in parallel (taken with two cameras). I aligned the videos so that they are synchronous. What I like to achieve is to fade between the two tracks at certain points. No problem so far. But when the transmission ends, the playback returns always to track 1. Is it really necessary to split the tracks on each transition point or is there an easier way? Thank you for clarification.

Maybe you can post a screenshot showing your timeline layout. If you have video on 2 tracks, then the top track should play (as OpenShot tracks composite).

heres the screenshot. What I like to achieve. I.E. play 10 seconds from track 1, slide over to track2, play a few seconds an track2, fade back to track 1 and so on...

What do you consider track 1? OpenShot counts the bottom track (Standvideo) as Track 1, the top track (Freihand) is Track 2.

The behaviour that should happen according to your screenshot is the first 10 seconds or so will come from Track 2(Freihand), it will transition to Track 1 (Stnadvideo), after the transition, Track 2 (Freihand) will become visible again, as the tracks stack on top of each other.

Sorry for my bad English. Yes the behavior you described is how it works. But what I like to do is showing a part in track 1 and then a part in track 2 and visa verca about 10 times or so. But there is no easy way to do that. It seems to me that I have to split the video on each track at the desired transition points, make a transition and disable the following part of the track that I don't will show. That's seems lot of work. I was just looking for something like a mixer to fade between the two tracks or a simple listbox in the transition dialog where I can choose the track which is played after the transmission. Nevermind if its not possible.
