Basic audio features

Postby zardoz » Sun Mar 18, 2012 5:13 am

Audio is a big deal , , , I love the flexibility, ease of use, and stability of OpenShot, but it's not practical for me to use because I need a separate audio track. Adding waveforms would save so much time (and so many headaches!)

Also, a common complaint on video-hosting sites is low volume. There's already a function for fading, but what most people could really use is single-click volume normalisation. Actually, a simple compressor would be very nice too. (I know Audacity will do this stuff; I'm really all about the waveforms.)

Cheers,
z.

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing here, but I just created an audio output. However the volume on the original in file was too low and the volume on the output created is too low. Is there a way to crank up the volume a little without running the openshot output or the original file though another program first?

Looks like I could run the audio clip I created with openshot (couldn't get audacity to edit the big file) though audacity and do "effect / amplify" save and then put it through openshot again to add the images.

Easier way?

add the audio to timeline, select properties, audio tab. I think you can increase volume up to 150% of original volume.

Hope it helps ;-)

Thanks in advance!

You can directly to it in the command line without openshot:
Code: Select all
sox -v 2 silentaudio.wav loudaudio.wav
